In her own words…

a snapshot of my teachers

I am a bridge between worlds. My work rests at the intersection of science and Spirit, rooted in ancestral womb work, womanism, reproductive justice, and transformation through education. I am an alchemist, tending to life’s most vulnerable and sacred transitions—birth, loss, and rebirth. As a Postpartum Specialist with a deep reverence for women, I stand for the mothers, the ones who hold the generations (literally and metaphorically).

As the visionary behind Blooming All Over and a certified birth worker with formal degrees in Psychology, Biology, and Public Health, I have spent the past 15 years studying and weaving together holistic wellness practices that nurture the whole being, rather than simply treating symptoms. I stand at the forefront of the postpartum revolution, inviting Black and Brown families to reclaim what has always been theirs: sacred care, deep rest, and the right to heal fully.

My journey has been intentionally global. I spent four transformative years living in South Korea, immersing myself in eastern medicine, followed by several months in Tanzania, deepening my connection to the land and ancestral practices. I furthered my studies in traditional healing under the renowned Queen Afua, whose teachings left an indelible mark on my work. Teachers and birth workers like Latham Thomas, Summayah Franklin, and Panquetzani have shaped the evolution of my care philosophy—layered, intentional, and deeply holistic.

This path of mine has been blessed by sacred encounters with Afro-Colombian midwives in Buenaventura, Colombia—a reminder that my calling is ancestral. My hands have been guided by those who recognize postpartum care as a sacred rite of passage, and I have traveled the world to sit at the feet of the wise ones. From midwives and herbalists in Guatemala to womb healers and elders in Thailand, I have devoted her life to this work.

Whether hosting international retreats or offering courses that walk people through their own healing, I curate spaces where Black folks and families can rest and restore. Designed to nourish and realign the Spirit, my offerings feel less like programs and more like portals. This same energy is carried deeply and intentionally into my postpartum work. While everyone else is thinking about the baby, I am thinking about the mother—ensuring she feels deeply seen, held, and honored. As The MUTHA of Postpartum Healing, I am here to teach you how to do the same.

A little about your guide, Danielle

holistic womb worker, SPiritual midwife, postpartum doula, teacher, friend

After surviving multiple sexual assaults, seemingly unbearable heartbreak, and overcoming health issues that disrupted my natural flow and vaginal wellness, something was calling me to pay attention to my womb.

I made a radical and personal decision to begin the journey of healing myself and to make a place that once felt so broken and shattered, a source for my own transformation.

I overcame it all; and in the process, became aware of how much authority I have over my choices and how much my choices impacted the outcomes in my life.

I have dedicated the last decade to learning how to reclaim my womb, my gut, my sensuality, and my love of Self after surviving what was meant to break me.

I have never felt more supported with the holistic tools I needed to live as Love-embodied, a daughter of The Divine. There are times when our bodies say yes to things before we truly know or understand why. This happened to me with this experience, and I am so grateful I trusted that gut feeling (my inner knowing). This class was so aligned with the healing work I needed to pursue in order to step fully into living my purpose. Moreover, it connected me with other amazing women of color doing the same inner work. The community and spiritual support in this blessed container is unparalleled. If you're ready to deepen into your birthrights of joy, wholeness, love, and true abundance - then this experience is for you!

Danielle's teaching and wisdom throughout the course has been life-altering.

— Ve'Lyn Crosby, San Jose, California

Danielle teaches with deep wisdom, blending practical postpartum care with ancestral knowledge in a way that is both grounding and expansive. Her insights on warmth, rest, and ecosystem-centered healing reshaped how I think about postpartum support. She masterfully debunks myths, weaves in the power of plants, and guides with an embodied understanding of care across all realms. Her approach to belly massage, spiritual hygiene, and the importance of tracking the body's signals deepened my understanding of birthwork. This training wasn’t just about skills—it was a portal. It affirmed the vastness of my calling and clarified the next steps in my journey. If you have the chance to learn from Danielle, take it. She is a gifted teacher, a powerful guide, and a vital force in this work.

I'm so grateful that I found this. It was certainly the medicine I needed to nourish my own heart as a doula. It was everything that I was looking for from a reputable, well-educated teacher. The hands-on skills were a full culmination and beautiful space to truly practice what we learned—and to truly embody it. There was support and guidance, but also space to flow freely—which is so appreciated because it helps us to find our way in the medicine that we want to offer as well. The community that Danielle calls in is warm and inviting and full of magic. I'm deeply grateful and I can not wait to share this with my community.

— LAUREN SHIELDS, DECATUR, GEORGIA

It was certainly the medicine I needed to nourish my own heart as a doula.

This was so much more than a class. Danielle is so much more than a teacher. I came here to learn the closing of the bones, and a mirror was held up to me literally every step of the way in caring for myself deeper as I care for others. It was a very transformational class. I am just so thankful that I was able to take part in this experience and so grateful for Danielle and her wisdom and her just standing in her purpose.

— Oyatalade Opanani, austell, GEORGIA

A mirror was held up to me literally every step of the way in caring for myself deeper as I care for others.

It truly feels like you're being trained to not only be a birth warrior or warrior in the birth space, protecting and defending mother and making sure that she's cared for, but a protector and defender of your own virtues in the practice and in the work. I feel like I was provided with a lot of education in order to have substantial and necessary tools to offer. I feel so seen and so patiently instructed. I feel initiated. I feel like this work was a portal. None of us who attended this training are leaving the same way we entered. None of us are leaving unshifted. None of us are leaving without our hearts elevated and supported and guided deeper into this practice. I’m very grateful. I’m very grateful, even more devoted, and very inspired.

— UCHECHI ANYANWU, atlanta, GEORGIA

It truly feels like you're being trained to not only be a birth warrior or warrior in the birth space.

I highly highly highlyyyy recommend Danielle for your trainings. I trained with her for the Postpartum Skill Drill and it was literally a weekend of immersing ourselves in the medicine. I walked away from the training with an even greater understanding of those who walk with me and how I will continue to administer the medicine (and other medicines) in a way that continues to allow it to move and flow with integrity. Thank you so much, Danielle, for being a carrier of this medicine, of this wisdom—for carrying it with so much integrity. The wild thing about all of this is I sent a prayer up for me to receive a genuine teacher, and within not even two weeks, I saw your post. Off rip, I knew that ancestors were involved. All throughout this weekend I saw, I remembered, I felt, I healed.

— ASHLEY St. Jules, atlanta, GEORGIA

Thank you so much, Danielle, for being a carrier of this medicine, of this wisdom.

This experience has supported my healing journey by fortifying my spiritual practices, holding space for me to show up as more true, and providing community with whom I could walk through this learning process. The course surpassed my expectations. I expected it to be therapeutic (not "therapy" but therapeutic in that it would provide renewal for how I relate to myself and to others). It was not only a renewal -- it was transformational. When I reflect on it, the timing was divine. We co-created something special for everyone's healing.

God led me to this program, and I am feeling more equipped to deal with my experiences, feelings, and life in general.

— Erikka Burnell, Brooklyn, New York

I knew that Danielle creates unique and transformative healing experiences, so I began the experience knowing it would create change in my life but it was beyond anything I could have ever imagined. The course went above my expectations. I have an abundance of tools and takeaways. This practice has been so transformative in shifting my mental state in the morning and starting my day off strong. The practices are really powerful and I know it is working because I am definitely using my voice more. I will continue to look at my womb space, talk to her, and affirm her.

I began the experience knowing it would create change in my life but it was beyond anything I could have ever imagined.

— Ife Hampton, New Orleans, Louisiana

I knew that Danielle creates unique and transformative healing experiences, so I began the experience knowing it would create change in my life but it was beyond anything I could have ever imagined.

I am walking away with a new life, a new view on life, new tools, new techniques, new connections and a whole new perspective on the events that have occurred in my life. The confidence that I have in myself and my inner strength (my womb space) is amazing. I do not think I had it before. I largely avoided thinking about my womb before, now all things come from there. The work that we did around our ancestors allowed me to connect in a way that I never have. It was almost like it gave me permission to be free to communicate with them and draw from them and seek guidance from them in ways that I had never imagined.

The experience far exceeded my expectations.

— Brittainy Pratt, Raleigh, North Carolina

Where are you in your journey?

Have you been bearing the weight of the world on your shoulders and ignoring your own intuition?
Or putting the wellbeing of everyone else before your own?
Are you healing from toxic lovers?
Are you experiencing the effects of mucus-filled and yeast-inducing foods?
Has your menstrual cycle been missing, inconsistent, or longer than 3 days?
Are cysts and fibroids taking up space in your womb?
Have you self-medicated, numbed, and tuned out?
Are you feeling unclear, uninspired, or out of alignment with your soul's purpose?
Has depression or anxiety taken over, leaving you feeling paralyzed?
Are you waking up in the middle of the night or losing sleep all together?
Have you stopped creating, stopped listening, stopped dancing in your divinity?

Did you know that you don't have to stay there? That you can choose a different experience for yourself at any time?

My prayer to The Divine and the divinity of our ancestors is that we remember; that we reawaken to the Truth of who we are. That we return home to our wholeness, for our wholeness is our birthright. The time for reclamation is now. Are you ready?

For 9 months, we move by the moon: one living theme held for 4 weeks at a time, so your body has space to learn, practice, and remember. On months that have 5 weeks, we pause and breathe. Each week, we'll have live teachings braided with ritual, so the lesson doesn’t just sit in your head, but lands in your heart and your practice. This rhythm (learn, tend, rest) keeps you held instead of hurried. And because integration takes time, you’ll have access to every replay for 9 months after our final class. Each portal inside the program will also leave you well-equipped with additional resources for continued learning beyond our time together.

Each month, a guest teacher joins us — elders, clinicians, and culture keepers whose work is rooted in evidence and ancestry. This is your space to expand your lens and deepen your craft through focused, real-world wisdom: warming and nutrition, lactation support, grief and loss, pelvic floor literacy, indigenous traditions, herbal allies, community organizing, and more. I curate each session intentionally around what this cohort needs now, so you’re not collecting theory. This is intended for you to receive tools, protocols, and perspective you can bring into practice the same day.

Throughout the residency, you’ll complete three embodied case studies: 1) on yourself (self-study, ritual, and repair), 2) on a friend, loved one, or non-paying client, and 3) on a paying client. One for each trimester. This is not and will not mirror institutionalized education and learning the way we know it. This is intended to be experiential and embodied. I’ll equip you with templates for assessment, care planning, outlines, documentation, and reflection. When your 3 cases are complete, you’ll submit a concise portfolio for review, leaving you with hands-on confidence, a tangible body of work, and a signature methodology you can use in your practice. You'll also receive your certification once the portfolio is approved.

Receive a personal tune-up with Danielle Lyles Barton each trimester of the residency. This is your space to bring what's alive in you and dive more deeply into client cases, breakthroughs, tender edges, and new levels of awareness you've been experiencing. This space is yours – I intuitively and intentionally design it around your unique needs: case consults, ritual refinement, energy reading and coaching, pricing and packages, boundaries and scope, and more. When you schedule your call with me, you’ll complete a brief form so I can prepare and tailor the session to you. We’ll root the skill, clear the noise, and name your strategy so you leave resourced, aligned, and ready to serve with clarity.

Spirit

We always begin at the altar of all that is divine. Ritual, reverence, and prayerful presence keep us grounded in the work and rooted to that which is bigger than ourselves. Here, intuition is honed and Spirit leads—so skill becomes ceremony and every touch carries blessing.

Science

Evidence-based practice holds up this work like a strong spine. We ground your devotion in confidence and clarity, where physiology and Truth are honored. As we translate research into trustworthy rhythms, you’ll know what to do, when to pause, and who to loop in so you can serve families with steady, embodied competence.

Storytelling

Stories are how people remember and we center the anecdotes of those who've come before us. Their memory is our map so we recover lineage, honor lived experience, and listen with humble hearts—then translate those stories into care plans, rituals, and next steps families can feel.

Traditional postpartum wisdom was erased on purpose. We are returning it on purpose. The families you serve are living at the edge of grief and joy, rupture and rebirth. Who will hold them well?

Why Now?

WHO IS THIS PROGRAM FOR?

What is the time commitment?

What if I can't make a session live?

This is for the student who is serious and is ready. For the doula who’s felt the tug: I learned the basics, but postpartum was a footnote—and I want more. For the practitioner ready to layer in real postpartum education so your work is both sacred and sound. For the provider who knows her path is primarily (or solely) postpartum and wants depth, clarity, and a framework that actually works. For the full-spectrum birthworker committed to continuing education. For the brand-new tender one just stepping onto the path. And yes: for the mother, auntie, or family member who wants to learn how to hold your loved one through the threshold with reverence and skill.

This is a worldwide approach to postnatal healing (with Danielle having studied from indigenous and traditional healers throughout the world). This is exclusively for Black and Indigenous people of global majority who are interested in learning this work. This work is also intentionally inclusive of postpartum families of all types, and is available to people of all gender expressions and identities. If you’re ready to turn care into ceremony, come gather your roots.

This isn’t for folks seeking a quick fix, a shiny certificate without embodiment, or medical licensure. It’s not for anyone who resists cultural humility, consent, or the direct and intentional centering of Black and Indigenous people, or Queer and multi-spirited folk. If you want theory without touch, hustle without rest, care or business without integrity, or performative “spirituality” without embodied practice—this won’t fit. If you’re unwilling to complete the practicum and portfolio, to be held by community agreements, or to commit at least 5 hours a week, this isn’t your season. If you’re looking only for a labor-doula course, or strictly clinical/medical training, or a guarantee of clients without doing the inner and outer work—this isn’t it. We move slowly, skillfully, with reverence. If that feels like friction rather than freedom, you’ll be happier elsewhere.

Our belief is simple and ancient: there is no single governing body for postpartum care—and this work is older than institutions. It is ancestral and traditional. Historically, you are called into this work by Spirit and affirmed by elders and those before you; your embodiment and commitment to the path are the true credentials. With that said, this residency fully equips you to serve your community immediately upon completion, and we offer ongoing support so you’re not walking alone.

We also understand many students desire acknowledgment of their devotion—and some jobs ask for documented proof of training. So yes: upon review of all three practicums (self, community, paying client) and completion of all coursework, you will receive a Certificate of Completion. This is not a medical license or state certification—it is a rigorous, scope-honoring recognition of your embodied skill, your readiness to serve, and your faithful study.

Danielle gave us the outlets, safe spaces, reflections, and demonstrations to prove that we have shared and unique struggles, that we can’t always do the work alone, and that we do this soul work simply by committing to do it. My experience showed me the absolute necessity of healing our hearts and wombs, and provided gentle yet pressing reminders that I cannot pour from an empty cup.

Blooming All Over gave me greater insight into the depths of my heart and soul that my mind had been actively suppressing.
